Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Inpatient Acute Care | Nephrology Focus

Location: Medical City (Inpatient Setting)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation: $135,000 – $140,000 (flexible for the right candidate)

Position Type: Full-Time

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join a collaborative inpatient care team at Medical City. This role is focused on acute, hospital-based patient care , supporting physicians in managing a medically complex patient population.

This is an excellent opportunity for providers with an acute care, hospitalist, or nephrology background who thrive in a team-oriented hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounding and patient assessments in an inpatient setting
• Complete admissions and discharges , including all required documentation
• Review and interpret lab results, imaging, and diagnostic tests
• Collaborate closely with supervising and attending physicians to develop and adjust treatment plans
• Assist with order entry, care coordination, and clinical decision-making
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and care options
• Respond to patient needs, including follow-up communication and care coordination
• Support care delivery for patients with renal/nephrology conditions , with potential exposure to transplant-related care

Required Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
• Graduate of an accredited NP program
• Acute care certification (preferred) OR strong inpatient/hospital experience
• Current Texas state license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Reliable transportation

Preferred Experience

• Inpatient/hospital-based experience (strongly preferred)
• Background in:
• Hospitalist medicine
• Nephrology / renal care
• Experience managing medically complex patients in an acute care setting

Work Environment

• Collaborative, physician-led team
• Inpatient hospital setting ( not outpatient or primary care )
• Average ~10 patients per day
