Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist

A growing specialty chemical manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist to support multiple production facilities in Northeast Ohio.

This role is critical in driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing workers’ compensation and environmental programs across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Workers’ Compensation & Safety Leadership

• Promote a culture of safety across multiple facilities
• Manage workers’ compensation programs, claims, and associated costs
• Investigate incidents and represent the company in hearings as needed
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards

Environmental, Health & Safety

• Maintain OSHA 300 logs and required OSHA/EPA reporting
• Lead safety training programs and compliance initiatives
• Conduct audits and recommend corrective actions
• Partner with leadership on safety improvements and regulatory guidance
• Oversee hazardous waste disposal programs
• Chair safety committee meetings across facilities
• Manage safety program costs and reporting metrics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EH&S, Industrial Management, Business, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of safety management experience in manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation programs
• Experience with environmental compliance in a manufacturing setting
• Background supporting multi-site operations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
