Job Title: Clerical Assistant – Hospital / Healthcare Setting

Location: Bronx, NY

Job Type: Contract

Duration: 7 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Clerical Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support in a healthcare setting. This role is essential in ensuring smooth daily operations by supporting staff, clinicians, and patients through effective communication, organization, and coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general clerical duties including filing, indexing, data entry, and document management
  • Serve as the front-desk point of contact, greeting patients, visitors, and staff professionally
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and maintain calendars
  • Prepare and format correspondence, reports, and other administrative documents
  • Operate standard office equipment such as computers, copiers, and fax machines
  • Enter and maintain accurate data while ensuring confidentiality
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist with patient inquiries
  • Coordinate with nurses, physicians, and healthcare staff to support workflow
  • Maintain an organized and efficient work environment
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Minimum typing speed of 50 keystrokes per minute
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • High level of professionalism, organization, and reliability
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior clerical or administrative experience preferred (healthcare setting a plus)
